Statement:
I have been making photographs for as long as I can remember. I don’t often plan or construct images, I prefer discoveries and observations with minimal manipulation. My husband and I like to travel whenever possible, from trips around the country in our Airstream trailer to world travels. My work attempts to capture moments from my daily life and travels that evoke a sense of timelessness, reflection, and a hint of mystery.
I am a native of Kansas City, Missouri and a lifelong artist, designer and photographer. My areas of interest include photography, painting, photo-encaustic collage, and design. I have been working as an experiential graphic designer for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art since 2007.
Print Philosophy:
I personally control the expression and quality of each print. The images are produced in my studio and I am involved in every step of the print-making process. Unless otherwise noted, all images are digital capture. I use a Canon Pro-100 printer with archival inks and papers. The images are printed on various fine-art papers, each selected for the best rendering of the image. I use Photoshop and Lightroom to "sculpt" the image. I rarely crop or significantly alter any content of the image as photographed.
The current archival calculation is 75–100 years, in normal display conditions. Care should be taken, as with any piece of fine art, not to expose the image to high levels of moisture or sunlight. The print should be treated as a quality fine art watercolor painting. Choosing a location having normal humidity levels and minimum exposure to ultra violet light will provide many years of pleasurable viewing.
All images are signed on the back of the print. Print size of the image, not the paper size, vary, but most commonly they are 12 x 12", archivally matted and framed at 21 x 22"
